Our Womens Initiative "Pink Flag" has been operating throughout Serbia and the region for two years through its work to reduce menstrual poverty. So far, our initiative has been supported by faculties from four different universities, as well as two secondary schools and a large number of organizations and companies. Their trust is a reward for our efforts, but in addition, the Womens Initiative received three awards for its work in the field of public action to combat menstrual poverty.During the two years of the action of providing free sanitary napkins, over 10,000 female students could rely on it every day and on those unexpected days, to be sure that they always have that one emergency sanitary napkin. In many communities, the menstrual cycle is still considered taboo, and menstrual poverty, which refers to the inability of low-income girls and women to afford products used during menstruation, is the cause of this association. Recognizing the importance of this idea, educational institutions throughout the Republic of Serbia and the region have accepted and implemented it within their institutions. In order for this idea to be sustainable, our work educates the community about the importance of fighting menstrual poverty, and your support of the campaign will help us in this! The aim of the campaign is to collect donations for the empowerment of female students at faculties at all universities in the Republic of Serbia through the sustainability of the idea of free sanitary napkins at faculties. The Pink Flag application was created as part of the socially responsible campaign "Programmers for Citizens" by Vega IT from Novi Sad.The development and improvement of the Womens Initiative depends on the support of all of you.
